Roast Level: Medium Dark

In the beginning there were three blends and Artist was the first. And it was good. So good in fact that we’ve roasted more Artist Blend than any other coffee since we started One Village Coffee. Being an artist, it is deep, dark, and brooding (or “brewding” if you prefer terrible puns). The melange roast method brings out the contrasting highlights of the origins in the blend. This coffee is in-your-face bold with huge flavors: earthy, roasty, and smokey while still retaining some fruit in its background. It is great as a black coffee yet it takes well to cream and sugar without losing its winning personality. Basically, no matter what role it plays, it takes home the award. Hope it has an acceptance speech prepared.

Artist is what we like to call a mélange blend consisting of two coffees roasted separately to different roast levels then blended together to achieve the finished product. To create this blend, we took two separate Organic Central American coffees, roasted one to a French roast and the other to a full city. We then cooled them down and hand blended them to ensure proper proportions.

Food Pairing: Artist is highly adaptive, bringing character like nobody’s business to any role it play. Is a great coffee for first thing in the morning as a part of your complete breakfast, and also pairs well with rich desserts after a hearty dinner. Pure talent.
