      In the beginning there were three blends and Artist was the first. And it was good. So good in fact that we’ve roasted more Artist Blend than any other coffee since we started One Village Coffee. Being an artist, it is deep, dark, and brooding (or “brewding” if you prefer terrible puns). The melange roast method brings out the contrasting highlights of the origins in the blend. This coffee is in-your-face bold with huge flavors: earthy, roasty, and smokey while still retaining some fruit in its background. It is great as a black coffee yet it takes well to cream and sugar without losing its winning personality. Basically, no matter what role it plays, it takes home the award. Hope it has an acceptance speech prepared.

      Roast Level: Light

      Tired of the same old, uninspiring cup of joe? Had it with over-roasted, homogenized corporate coffee? Wish you could try something different? Wondering why we’re asking so many questions? Well, we have the cure. (And we’re done with the questions. Promise.) Aurora Blend, one of our original Signature Blends, is one of the lightest roasts we make, but also one of our most full-flavored. We named it Aurora because it first reminded us of waking up on a sunny day full of possibilities. It will tantalize your palette with lemony citrus brightness balanced with a caramel-like sweetness, smoothed over with vanilla nuances. This coffee really opens up as it cools, a veritable flavor bomb. If you associate light roast with weak flavor, then you have to give it a shot. And because of the higher caffeine content in the lighter roast, you’ll have plenty of time to mull this seeming contradiction over after you breeze through your todo list in record time.

    • Evening Blend

      Here at OVC, we’re a lot like you. We love drinking coffee, but we don’t want to be up all night. Unless we’re playing Risk and we’re winning. Darn you Kamchatka, why can’t we defend you!? So we created “Evening Blend” especially for those who simply want to limit the amount of caffeine in their systems without sacrificing the yum factor. All the flavor and half the caffeine. Now, to some, this may seem like a compromise, perhaps even cheating, but we think it’s something we can all learn to love. It is comprised of a Central American “regular” coffee and a natural water-processed decaf, roasted just a tad dark to bring out the bittersweet flavors in the bean. This coffee has the flavor of fresh-roasted nuts and a touch of honey-like sweetness. The welcomed bittersweet, smoky cocoa flavor lingers on the palette and will truly surprise you. But it won’t help you storm Greenland. That, our friend, is up to you.

      So you’re expecting some lame pun about Napoleon, the Eiffel Tower, or berets? Well sometimes life hands you a welcome and refreshing surprise. Case in point; the OVC French Roast. This coffee is deep, smokey, and rich with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, vanilla, and a touch of peppercorn. But most importantly, though it is our darkest coffee, it is complex and not nearly as dominated by roast flavors as most blends representing this style. Tres bien! (Sorry, it slipped..)

      Alright, so its a generally accepted fact that decaffeinated coffees are inferior right? Well if we listened to what everyone thought then we wouldn’t have had the guts to wear that sweet space jacket/shorts/cowboy boots ensemble to kindergarten 3 times a week! (OK, bad example..) The point is, we couldn’t accept that creating a seriously delicious decaf was impossible just because there aren’t a lot of them out there. We wanted to make a pleasing decaf blend that could be used in a variety of settings, a decaf that people wouldn’t be able to distinguish from their regular caffeinated coffee. This blend is that and more. It is full-bodied and rich, loaded with the flavor you have come to expect from One Village Coffee. Don’t take our word for it though. Everyone thinks so..

    • House Reserve

      Roast Level: Medium

      House Reserve is a blend that would not be denied, truly the “Rudy” of our lineup. Originally an autumnal seasonal roast, this coffee was so popular with our customers that we had to keep it around. Intended to be a reminder of the warm, recently-past sunny days of summer, it is now a staple of our offerings. The dominant flavors in the cup are a raspberry and citrus fruitiness with herbal notes. There is just a touch of honey sweetness with a hint of melon in the finish that lingers on your palette. No word when the sappy Hollywood tribute debuts, but we’ll keep you posted.

    • Smart Blend

      Here at OVC we like to mess with the Classics because we can. We don’t do it to be bratty kids though. We do it to give a new perspective to an old standard that could use some much-needed life. In creating our Smart Blend, we took the classic “Moka-Java” blend and updated it a bit to draw out the most flavor we could while retaining its authenticity and remaining as true as possible to its essence. This coffee has a room-filling aroma and big, big flavors. Right up front you are hit with a sensory rush of blueberry, dried fruits and cocoa which take turns pleasing your taste buds. For this reason, it’s been an OVC staff favorite since our inception. We suppose sometimes the Classics just need a little tweaking to stay fresh and keep everyone on their toes. On that note, wonder how Mona Lisa would look as a blonde?
